Hi, Linda!
The first thing that comes to mind is the "Whatnot Muppets", where you can change hair and eyes and noses. They are attached using Velcro.
I see some on eBay, just do a search using "Whatnot Muppets" to see what is currently available (sample pictured below).

They were made by FAO Schwartz, but are now discontinued. They can be still be found on amazon and Ebay.
