I'm working on outfitting my church's Bible Computer lab with a Beach Theme.
I'll be posting photos as it develops.
Why a Beach?
...because "beach" is fun.
...because "beach" decor is easy to find and cheap.
...and because we live in Florida.
For starters...
Here's the hallway sign for our "Bible Surf Shack" computer workshop.
The sign is a foam boogie board. $9 at Wal-Mart.
The letters were amazingly easily, and very inexpensive.
They are 'post-it' note-style letters from "ArtSkills!" which come in pads. You peel them off, position them, then apply glue stick to the back, and they look WONDERFUL. Bought them at Wal-Marty too.
I used both the blue and green versions of the letters and glued them on top of each other to give a sense of relief to the letters. (The photo below is a more true representation of the blue letters on the boogie board sign.)
The boogie board is styrofoam covered with a printed fabric design. The letters glue right to it. Originally, I tried paint, but the fabric cover to the board absorbed it and made it bleed.
I plan on adding a prop Bible to the shark's mouth
Total cost of this sign: $14
